Current Project Status

Independent Study Progress completed

  • Determine Capera Capabilities and Parameters (GPS Accuracy, Directional Accuracy, Altitude Accuracy,
    • Read Input Data (JPEG, EXIF)
  • Process input data (EXIF-DMS-DD-ALT-DIR, ETC)
    • Tested from a variety of input methods (Dropbox, Direct from Camera)
  • Project Features spatially
  • Export Data to PDF
  • Create 2D Point Cloud
  • Create 2D PolyLines (Used for Arcs)
  • Create 2D Areas (Arc sweeps)
    • Identify Correct Parameters for the Areas (angles to use)
  • Display above data in ArcMap
  • Create Building Template (ShapeFile)
  • Use clipper to identify where arc areas and buildings overlap
  • Output new shapefile of overlap reigon
  • Output Excel table with overlap building name and photo details (Matches photo to building)








Independent Study-- To Be Solved:

  • Need to set restraints on Clipper area (arc sweep) and the terminal distance.
How will this be achieved?
Can we relate it to the geometry of the features? (Drawing in notebook)

  • Need to improve filtering and/or regex to fix GPS coordinates that are importing incorrectly
  • Identify and remove BAD gps coordinates somehow



  • Identify Data-Fields we want and prioritize them in the exported files for ease of display
  • Export existing data to a KML file for Google Earth
